PROFESSIONAL BIO

Dr. Mandy Nezami is a Public Health Nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) specializing in adult and adolescent nutrition.

Mandy’s approach to health is holistic, through bringing simplicity to diet, anthropometric assessment, metabolism, blood test evaluation, determining limiting beliefs about food and eating patterns, emphasis on sleep, and exercise patterns she can design an individually tailored nutrition program that sets up her clients for success.  With over 20 years of work experience in acute care hospital, management and implementation of state of the art nutrition policies she has supported thousands of patients toward recovery and health. 

Mandy graduated with her Doctorate Degree in Public Health with a Major in Nutrition from Loma Linda University in March of 2016. Additionally, she has two Masters Degrees in Nutrition. One from Brooklyn College and a Masters in Arts in Human Ecology, Nutrition Education concentration from Montclair State University in New Jersey.  

She has been involved with countless number of projects, community outreach and nutrition education on Obesity Research, diabetes and health /wellness committees.  Mandy completed her Dietetic Internship at Montclair State University Dietetic Internship program back in 2001. She is currently an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, She is currently part of the  California Academy, Los Angeles District Board and is currently serving as the District President. 

Mandy’s dissertation work has been dedicated to the effects of different foods including milk and dairy foods on overweight and obesity in the adolescent and young adult population.  Her research interests include the effects of beverages on overweight/ obesity, vegan and vegetarian foods, as well as integrative and functional nutrition for optimal digestive health. 

Mandy’s experiences range from management of multiple nutrition departments within hospitals and health care settings to implementing corporate employee wellness programs to teaching nutrition at a variety of college/ universities to analyzing health product nutrition facts for multiplefood companies.  

With over 2 decades of experience in the field of nutrition her rich expertise is grounded in her early work as a clinical Dietitian in an acute care hospital setting as well as outpatient clinics before she was promoted in management due to her excellent leadership skills. In her years of work experience she has worked with administrators, renowned professors, multiple physicians from Allergists to Board Certified Gastroenterologist helping her clients in all realms of medical nutrition therapy, digestive disorders, weight loss and/or lean muscle gain and sports nutrition.
